LET IT BE, for Marge Piercy

So, in 2024, I’m trying (goal here) to write a poem every workday and share one of these drafts every week.

I’m not sure how I’ll do.

The reason for this is because I am afraid of the sound of my voice (past bullying and current comparisons to a Muppet), and I don’t want to be afraid of my voice. And poems are a way (on the page and in the air) of being really out-there about your voice (both the sound and the meaning).

Thanks for being with me on this journey as I try to face what I’m scared of, which turns out to be myself.

I call this one “LET IT BE” and it’s for Marge Piercy, the real poet, because of the quotes in the first line.
